Valparaiso

Passengers board in the late afternoon, get a welcome speech from the captain, and we set sail in the evening to anchor off Valparaiso harbor, greeted by the port tugs.

Sunday December 24 to Tuesday December 26, 2023

At sea

Bunkering in Valparaiso harbor before setting sail for Chiloé. Introduction to the expedition team and principal officers, and a crossing in somewhat rough conditions that shakes the passengers a little until the entrance to the Chacao Channel, where we encounter very strong currents.

Castro, Chiloe island

An exotic stopover on the island of Chiloé, where our passengers disembark for the first time in excellent weather conditions.

We set sail again in the evening, heading south towards the Golfo de Penas and Tortel, which we reach after another day at sea.

Tortel

Stopover in Tortel, with the charm of its village and the splendour of its natural environment. We're really starting to feel like we're in Patagonia.

Isla Carlos III / Bay of Sardines

The wind was too strong to operate around Carlos III Island, so we improvised an exploration of the Bay of Sardines, and it was a great success!

Magnificent exploration of the Agostini Fjord, in superb weather conditions. A dream come true!

The highlight of the cruise is this last stop near the Agostini glacier and wonderful encounters with wildlife, before arriving in Ushuaia.
