ISABELLE

An original experience on board the accommodation ship Isabelle X.

A former Baltic Sea ferry, the Isabelle was purchased and converted by Canadian company Bridgemans to provide luxurious accommodation for workers at the Woodfibre LNG construction site in Howe Sound, near Vancouver. It’s another new experience for Eric to command a “Floatel”, which has very special operations. Welcome aboard!

The Car Deck

The former garage deck was completely transformed to meet the needs of the ship’s new operations. Residents access the ship via the starboard side, which is equipped with individual heated lockers and large sinks for washing hands. Forward is one of the ship’s two medical centres. The port side is reserved for the crew; this is where all logistical operations take place (provisioning, waste management, baggage storage, laundry), and where new heat pumps were installed to provide air conditioning for the ship in all seasons.

The Crew Mess
